This remarkably atmospheric palace in Vienna's city centre is very
special. Built in 1845, it feels both grand and intimate – the intimacy
helped by the sensitive restoration of the Renaissance fortifications on
which it was built. Following extensive restoration and refurbishment
work, the historic Hotel Palais Coburg was re-opened in November 2003.
Used for decades as offices and flats, today it houses 35 exclusive
suites and a choice of gastronomic venues, as well as a world-class spa.
The total of 35 suites in the Hotel Palais Coburg range in size between
54 m² and 165 m², with an average size of 100 m², and they are mainly
spread over two floors of the building. Each suite is individually
furnished. Above the roofs of Vienna, the guests of the Hotel Palais
Coburg enjoy an exclusive spa area with the latest training equipment,
sauna, steam-bath, whirlpool, counter-current indoor pool and dedicated
sun-terrace. Surrounded by tropical plants, the SPA offers the ideal
setting for relaxation and recovery after a long day. The fitness room
is equipped with TV facilities, and a fridge stocked with soft drinks is
available to guests. Finally, the Coburg Gourmet Bistro offers delicious
meals, either in the Bastion Bar or in the Garden Pavilion, throughout
the day.
The Hotel Palais Coburg is located in the city centre of Vienna. The
main sights like the State Opera House, St. Stephens Cathedral, museums
and the main shopping street are in walking distance. From the airport
it takes around 30 minutes to the hotel.
