Black and white, and very sexy – but that’s where Odette en Ville’s
similarity to a Playboy bunny ends. Odette en Ville is a classy affair,
housed in an art deco townhouse, with a monochrome palette and a sleek
sense of luxury: Italian marble, plush drapes and beds dressed with
come-hither rabbit fur. Voices as velvety as the furnishings croon
seductively in the background – listen out for Etta James and other jazz
big guns – and the retro feel continues with old-fashioned telephones
and a wrought-iron staircase fit for sweeping entrances. Splashes of
soft color relieve all the ebony: vases of fragrant lilac roses,
matching purple trimmings on the bed linen, and silvery banquette
seating in the restaurant. Talking of food, the hotel excels at elegant
Belgium fare, and the Châtelain quarter has plenty of tempting bars and
bistros.
