Overlooking a canal in the very heart of Bruges’ historical centre, Die
Swaene Hotel is a romantic and peaceful haven with many surprising
extras. An indoor swimming pool, a new spa and a glass Pergola Kaffee
restaurant form a pleasing contrast to the old-world charm of this 18th
century townhouse.
Die Swaene Hotel has 30 elegantly furnished rooms, all individually
decorated. Public rooms have an atmosphere of times past. The impressive
lounge, with its fine painted ceiling, is the restored meeting room of
the Guild of Tailors, dating from 1779. It's the perfect place to have
an appetizer, a drink before dinner or to enjoy one of the many
exclusive cognacs later in the evening. The restaurant, located in a
17th-century vaulted room, offers some of the finest food in Bruges. A
magnificent new wing, The Canal House, offers eight rooms and two suites
at water level. Its sunny terrace follows the canal to provide an
entrancing view of the water-borne activity.
The glass and steel addition to Die Swaene Hotel is an intimate café
restaurant making the most of the hotel’s picturesque waterfront
setting. In the oldest part there is a striking meeting room housed in
the former grand parlour where ornate period furnishings stamp the
hotel’s historic legacy. Soothe away the bustle of the city in the sauna
or hammam in the HetHemelhuis Spa and Wellness centre.
