Chateau des Monthairons is a beautiful 19th Century Castle with
fairytale turrets. The Chateau has much to offer visitors -- from a
private beach on the River Meuse to an elegant and exclusive restaurant
serving such delights as Homard rôti et servi dans un coeur d'artichauts
breton et pointes d'asperges vertes (Roasted lobster served with hearts
of Breton artichokes and green asparagus tips). And there are no less
than 11 choices on the dessert menu! The continental breakfast include
home-made jams, cheese, juice, yogurt, bread and hot tea or coffee.
The chateau's 35-acre park partially bordering the wild Meuse is home to
both a Gothic and a Romanesque chapel and a heron centre. Walks are
delightful, especially along the exquisitely beautiful river's edge. You
will find that Chateau des Monthairons is lovingly tended and elegantly
decorated.
The Chateau offers 20 rooms included 4 duplex and 2 apartments. They are
all equipped with private bathrooms and toilets, satellite colour
television, direct-dial phone and mini-bar. Some of them are overlooking
the park; the others the court and a few have the view on the river
Meuse. In the rooms of the 1st floor, the walls are very high. Some of
them are spacious and have a bath in the corner. On the 2nd floor, the
rooms have been recently refurbished in modern style and are cosier. You
will appreciate the charm of the duplex with their cosy lounge and the
room upstairs.
From your first glimpse of this awe-inspiring Chateau to the sad day
when you must depart, each moment you spend at Monthairons will be
exceptional -- you will leave with memories of the delicious meals,
superior accommodations and warm and friendly service that are hallmarks
of Hostellerie du Chateau des Monthairons.
