Hotel Royal is located on Lyon's Place Bellecour in the heart of the
historical Capital of the Gauls. Whether you wish to browse in the many
high-end boutiques in the centre of town, go about your business
activities; improve your cultural knowledge by visiting some museums,
theatres, cinemas, etc...Or simply explore the outstanding Renaissance
architecture of the Old Lyon, you will find that the Hotel Royal makes
an ideal starting point.
On June 22, 1965 John Lennon and the Beattles set up residence in the
Hotel Royal. Since that time a single word - Imagine - has come to
encapsulate an entirely original concept. This "imagination" is
expressed on an atmosphere composed in equal measure by diversity and
refinement: mahogany and brass (the Clipper Room) "water jets and waves"
(Balneo Room), curtains and four posters beds (Rotonde Room).
In the best traditions of the Lyonnais silk workers, the Hotel Royal
follows the example of the fabled magnaneries or silk-worms farms in
ensuring that its guests are wrapped in a cocoon of contentment. The
owners of the establishment have left nothing to chance in their quest
to create a decoration and environment characterized by brilliance,
softness and elegance. The Hotel Royal was host to the British
delegation at the G7 summit in June 1996. The Hotel is proud to say that
the prestigious guests were impressed by the high standard of comfort,
intimacy and discretion that they were provided with.
