A just step from Kurfürstendamm, this well-located, well-run hotel is an
atmospheric gem with friendly young staff and loads of charisma. Hotel
Art Nouveau is a beautifully restored building from this architectural
period and has a load of interesting features such as a historical
elevator and a collection of antiques lovingly collected over the years.
The engaging, accommodating owners, Christine and Gerd Schlenzka, both
speak excellent English and seem always on hand to give wise counsel on
what to do and see in Berlin and which are the best restaurants.
The hotel's high ceilinged rooms are spacious and airy and each has its
own look. The rooms are decorated with flair in a mixture of modern and
antique furniture. The textures are provided by stucco ceilings and fine
hardwood floors. Ensuite bathrooms are integrated into the rooms without
disrupting the elegantly proportioned townhouse architecture. Enjoy the
atmosphere of large, spacious rooms with stucco ceilings, fine hardwood
floors, restored antiques and the warm colors of the Mediterranean. Even
the TVs are stylish. The breakfast room has a cooking area and a fridge
full of goodies should you feel peckish in the small hours and the staff
are utterly charming.
All of this is located only two minutes away on foot from the
Kurfürstendamm which has some of the best shopping in Berlin.
Savignyplatz, with its great selection of restaurants, is also located
nearby. Regarding public transport, bus no. 109 will take you directly
to the airport or to the train station Bahnhof Zoo. You can easily reach
the trade fair with bus no. 149. Friedrichstraße, Potsdamer Platz and
Mitte are also only a short distance away in the metro.
