6.5km (4 miles) E of Positano and 9km (5 miles) W of Amalfi
The busiest stretch of the Costiera, the area between Amalfi and
Positano, is studded with little towns both by the water and up the
cliffs. These are often bypassed by tourists who make a beeline for more
famous destinations -- a boon for the traveler who chooses to tarry
here. Praiano is the abbreviated name for the twin villages (Vettica
Maggiore to the west, and Praiano to the east) that are the two faces of
Capo Sottile, the promontory east of Positano. |
