Al Cappello Rosso is located right in the cultural and commercial heart
of Bologna and 50 meters away from Piazza Maggiore (Main Square), the
Hotel dates from 1375. This is the date quoted in the historical
researches on one of the oldest hotels in the city. More than 600 years
ago the first "foreigners" in transit through Bologna were registered as
guests of the "Al Cappello Rosso".
Remaining faithful to its tradition of hospitality, today the Al
Cappello Rosso offers a very valuable four star accommodation. The hotel
is considered by its demanding and loyal customers as the ideal place
for fully enjoying the magic atmosphere of Bologna. The refurbishment
carried out by the new owners has ensured hospitality of the highest
order.
The four-storey hotel features 32 rooms and a mansard suite - its garret
windows offer a unique view on the historical buildings of the city. All
perfectly sound-proof and with unique furnishings.
The "Red Hat" in the hotel's name referred to the preferred headgear of
the privileged tradesmen who stayed here. Now the hotel has been
revamped into an ultramodern place with no hint of its past.
