In 1903 Mr. Giacomo Costa transformed his private residence into a
hotel, entrusting the management to the Kuoni-Stoppani family, founders
of one of the oldest European travel agencies: this is how the Miramare
soon became one of the first Grand Hotels on the Portofino coast. The
Grand Hotel Miramare with its large liberty style building, overlooking
the promenade to Portofino, dominates the Tigullio Gulf.
The Hotel Miramare had been receiving famous guests as Laurence Olivier
e Vivian during the honeymoon (1947), Guglielmo Marconi (1933), Marina
di Savoia (1950), Anita Ekberg (1958), Ugo Tognazzi (1958) and many
other at the "Samba Night" of the Barracuda, during the "Fifties"
At the Hotel Miramare the guests can enjoy services and amenities such
as the open air heated sea water pool, the "Les Bougainvillées", elegant
restaurant with panoramic view, the American bar "Le Colonne", the
"Barracuda" Piano Bar, a chic venue for cocktails or after-dinner
drinks, "Poolside Buffet and Barbecue" for a pleasant summer luncheon
and, during the Summer season, the public beach "Bagni Miramare".
The Miramare conference center is a perfect location for the most
demanding meeting, offering the right atmosphere for relaxation and
concentration, amidst the silence of nature and the blue of the sea. The
state-of-the-art "eSPAce" is the new wellness center of the Grand Hotel
Miramare, featuring a wealth of faces and body treatments.
