Built in 1884, the Grand Hotel Gardone was constructed in the elegance
and style of that period. It is luminous and very elegant and from the
lake, it appears very welcoming to the guests. The facade of the Grand
Hotel Gardone, is majestic, very picturesque and refined for that
period, but becomes even more glorified with the ever changing light,
sun and shade of the day, and more so at night.
The 167 rooms and Junior Suites with balcony and a splendid view, air
conditioning, minibar, satellite LCD TV, direct dial telephone, etc. All
have been refurbished to a very high standard so as to ensure that

lakeside Veranda Restaurant. A high quality of fresh food, refined
cuisine and many local specialties are the main distinctive features.
Winnie's Piano Bar for a drink or for a dance after dinner. Snack-bar by

Amongst the many celebrities that stayed at the Grand Hotel Gardone, let
mention: the Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio and his famous receptions;
Sir Winston Churchill who used to paint the landscape and its wonders;
the writers V. Nabokov and Somerset Maugham who found it the ideal
retreat to produce the most beautiful works; the Nobel Prize Sabin who
considered the hotel as a perfect starting point for excursions in the
historical towns of Northern Italy.
