Perched on a hilltop in the historical centre of Perugia, the Hotel
Brufani Palace is a grand hotel built in 1883 which offers an enchanting
view of the Umbrian valley. A former inn, its many illustrious guests
included Prince Albert of Monaco and the Queen Mother of England. It has
retained many of its original details and decoration - and its
considerable charm has been enhanced by a recent refurbishment. Spacious
halls and public areas with their painted high ceilings and original
parquet floors have an antique splendor — great stone fireplaces are lit
in winter, precious chandeliers and antique furniture transmit an
immediate sense of warmth and contribute in creating an atmosphere which
recalls the "Belle Époque" period.
Hotel Brufani Palace offers 94 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, all
equipped with modern amenities and comfort. When it comes to dining, the
restaurant "Collins" prepares regional cuisine and has an outdoor
terrace in for dining in summer. The bar is decorated in an English
style and serves afternoon teas as well as cocktails. If you want to
unwind, the Sina Fitness Club features an attractive indoor
swimming-pool with a glass floor that reveals old Etruscan ruins.
Alongside this, you'll find a gym, sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and
chaises-longues.
Hotel Brufani Palace is located in a prominent position in the
historical centre of the city, which, with its many one-way cobbled
streets, is best experienced on foot. Highlights of the city include the
Cathedral, frescoes by Perugino, its many streetscapes and its Etruscan
ruins. The city is also famous for its chocolate and the city hosts a
chocolate festival every October.
