Located in the old town centre of Spello, one of the most charming
medieval towns in Umbria, the Hotel Palazzo Bocci is the place where
history, traditions and art coexist along with new technologies, thanks
to the well-balanced restoration work, with its design of exclusive
rooms, both simple and elegant, for a stay with a touch of the past.
Palazzo Bocci, which opened as a hotel in 1992, has paintings by
Benvenuto Crispoldi and an architectural style that is enlivened by
in-between floors, split-levels and niches.
The seventeenth century building offers its guests surroundings and
rooms that evoke an atmosphere of rare beauty, such as the fountain at
the entrance, the hanging garden with two century-old palm trees, the
spectacular Hall of Frescoes, the rooms, the luxurious suites, plus
views and hidden corners that the Hotel Palazzo Bocci jealously
preserves as if they were a treasure.
The Hotel has a total of 23 rooms with private bath: 2 suites + 4 junior
suites with whirlpool tub, 13 doubles with shower, 2 doubles with normal
bathtub and 2 singles with shower and are elegantly furnished with a
pleasant atmosphere. All rooms are soundproof and are equipped with
hairdryer, telephone with direct line, mini-bar, TV color with satellite
reception, safe deposit box, air conditioning to ensure you to have an
exclusive and comfortable stay.
Magnificent frescoes decorate the hotel’s Reading Lounge, and the Bar
with service in the outdoor garden offers moments of total relax to
enjoy the charm of Palazzo Bocci.
A buffet breakfast is served in pleasant small dining rooms or in the
garden during warm summer months. Near the hotel there is plenty of free
parking, a lift and a conference hall for business meetings or
conferences.
Located in an old oil mill, the building of the Il Molino restaurant
dates back to the 14th century. The views of walls from the Roman period
and a large fireplace in the dining room contribute in creating warm and
pleasant surroundings. The dining room can seat around 100 people and in
the summer one can also enjoy the open-air terrace.
The dishes worth trying are based on traditional Umbrian cooking. The
flavor of truffles from Norcia, cep mushrooms, pulses, game in the
winter, wild asparagus and mountain herbs give the cooking its
character. So, tradition combined with elaboration and a lot of
inventiveness gives all the dishes a distinctive taste.
