The first ‘one to five stars’ hotel of the world is situated in a
revamped 1920s building and is a showcase of Dutch design. The rooms
differ in size, but the high quality service is the same for everybody:
super comfortable beds with feather quilts, an excellent restaurant with
pure, local food, where breakfast is served with homemade jams, and café
latte. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner till late. To
further enhance your stay an extensive library of art books is
available, free Wi-Fi and a range of cultural activities freely
accessible for guests and local people.
All rooms in the Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy – ranging from one to
five "stars" – offer a different experience. These entail a difference
in design, surface area and therefore rate. Much attention has been
given to the interior of the rooms. A number of exciting Dutch Designers
(Claudy Jongstra, Hella Jongerius, De Bazel, Marcel Wanders, Richard
Hutten, to name but a few) have created several of the furniture pieces.
The hotel has a restaurant – called Snel (best translated as "brisk") –
a recording studio, a nomadic library and some rooms with a kitchen for
the use of those hotel guests who prefer to cook for their own visitors.
Eating and drinking in Lloyd Hotel is about good ingredients and a
simple way of treating them.
The Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy is very well situated, located in the
heart of the trendy Eastern Docklands, only 5 minutes by tram from
Central Station. It is near the city centre (direct public transport
connections) and access from the ring-road is easy. The hotel has
parking facilities of its own in a parking garage. There's plenty of
space in front of the hotel if you're interested in getting there by
boat.
