Behind the grand façades of two 17th-century canal houses lies what has
been described as one of Amsterdam’s hidden treasures: The Toren. This
hotel is unique in its elegance and opulence. With beautifully detailed
interiors by well-known designer Wim van de Oudeweetering, the
atmosphere is at once chic, warm, theatrical and ever so slightly
mystical. Attention to detail means that each room is different, with
its own special touch. Hospitality is taken seriously, and the hotel
prides itself on providing the highest quality service, doing all it can
to help you feel at home. All in all, The Toren offers an unforgettable
stay in Amsterdam.
Each of the 38 stylish yet comfortable rooms has its own unique touch,
and all have been decorated with thought and care – antique gold-framed
mirrors, luxurious velvets and crisp linen are found throughout. All
Superior Rooms have views onto the canal or the gardens, and are
equipped with whirlpools, allowing you to indulge yourself. Wi-Fi is
available (surcharge) in all rooms, as are iPod alarm clocks. Dinner can
be ordered in your room or the lounge from the former Michelin-starred
Christophe’ restaurant (closed on Sunday and Monday).
The Toren is situated on the Keizersgracht in the centre of Amsterdam,
and there is no shortage of beautiful and interesting places to discover
nearby - the picturesque Jordaan district is just a moment's walk away,
as is the house of Anne Frank. In less than five minutes you can be in
the Dam square with its Royal Palace. The Concertgebouw, Rijksmuseum,
Van Gogh Museum and Amsterdam’s most luxurious shopping street, P.C.
Hooftstraat, are just a short tram ride away.
