Set in a 17th century fortress, the Fortaleza do Guincho is an ideal
place for people who are looking for a quiet refuge to work or relax.
The hotel still keeps a noble and strong posture that faces the
beautiful Atlantic blue with great elegance.
The Fortaleza do Guincho has 27 restored rooms and suites, all equipped
with the last in comfort and technology. Boasting a balcony or terrace
with south facing views towards the sea, or towards the most westerly
point of mainland Europe, the marvelous Cabo da Roca. Completely
equipped and conditioned, guests will find it a great place to relax,
read or work comfortably. The establishment's famous and experienced
chef, Vincent Farges is an inventive disciple of Antoine Westermann, the
three Michelin-Star French chef. Farges attracts locals from as far as
Lisbon to sample dishes that subtly merge French flavors with Portuguese
accents whilst espousing traditional ways of cooking. A first-class wine
list with French and Portuguese bottles complements the dishes.
Together with the rooms and wonderful gastronomy that the Hotel
Fortaleza do Guincho has to offer, it is well worth mentioning that the
hotel is located in one of the most beautiful places in Portugal. Its
neighbors include the most westerly lighthouse on mainland Europe in
Cabo da Roca, the marvelous Guincho beach and the steep, green mountains
of Sintra and Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
