Sheltering under the Bermeja Mountains, Estepona is a major tourist centre on the western coast of Málaga which has magnificent beaches equipped with all kinds of services, as well as a busy marina. What was the Phoenician settlement of La Astapa today boasts a well-cared for centre with an Andalusia flavor which houses some architectural gems, among them the church of the Virgen de los Remedios and the castle of San Luis.
