This much-praised boutique hotel near the cathedral, formerly an
aristocrat's home, houses just thirteensophisticated rooms and is a
favourite for visiting dignitaries. The ornamental carvings that adorn
the façade of Hotel Rector – so typical of so many buildings in this
beautiful city – are a good indication that this is no ordinary hotel.
Inside, a genuine sense of timeless luxury prevails with lovely period
flourishes such as immaculate stain glass windows, mahogany furniture,
and polished wooden floors. Add to this a wide entrance hall, 13 quietly
luxurious and ample rooms, a small bar for clients only and an intimate
salon for breakfast and you have the perfect stay in Salamanca.
Rooms, including the ample double and larger double superior, are
beautifully designed with mahogany furniture, fitted marble bathrooms
with Bulgari amenities, and thick terry bathrobes and slippers. They
also feature individual climate control, LCD TV with satellite channels
and iPod docking station upon request. To ensure a good night's sleep,
each room is fitted with blackout curtains as well as double glazed
windows and blinds.
Hotel Rector is located in the city centre on Paseo Rector Esperabé, in
front of the old city walls and close to the river. The cathedral is a 3
minute walk away, and the Baroque Plaza Mayor, Spain's most beautiful
square, is just 10 minutes away.
