NEARBY BEACHES:

Platja Fonda
Platja Fonda is a dark cove, both in terms of its water as in the rocks which surround it. It is found beyond Cap Begur, via the “cami de ronda” footpath from Fornells. The beach itself is 100 metres long and has a dark, coarse sand, which lends it a peculiar appearance. It is one of the quietest places on the coast of Begur.

Aiguablava
The beach at Aiguablava has shallow water of infinite shades and with its fine, bright sand, the beach is a warm and welcoming hideaway. The area is surrounded by almost untouched natural scenery which has seen little of man’s influence. It is a beach some 90 meters long and is one of the most popular beaches, not only in Begur, but in Catalonia. The beach has many visitors and is considered by many to be the best beach in Catalonia due to its surroundings.

Fornells
Fornells is renowned for its marina, the Port Esportiu and “Paradis” the house which Bonaventura Sabater built in front of El Port de Ses Orats, and from where, as tradition has it, the inspiration for the name “Costa Brava” was given for this stretch of coastline. Next to the town are two small coves: Ses Orats and Can Malaret.

Platja del Racó
The beach of Platja del Racó is right next to Pals. It is a quiet cove, ideal for relaxing and sunbathing. The beach is 300 metres long and 65 metres wide. It is one of the largest beaches after Sa Riera.

Illa Roja
The Illa Roja is a nudist beach with clear waters, a calm place and far from the crowds. It is overlooked by a small reddish-coloured island which gives the beach its name. Access is only possible on foot via the footpath of the Cami de Ronda de Sa Riera to the Platja del Racó. The beach is an internationally renowned nudist vacation spot.

Sa Riera
Sa Riera is the largest beach in the Begur area, and the nearest to the town. Sa Riera owes its name to a stream or “riera” which divides the beach in half. Old fishermen’s homes are still standing by the beach and there are various leisure activities available on the beach itself. In summer a traditional sea shanty event is held in this idyllic setting.

Sa Tuna
This is a natural cove with clear, crystalline waters, protected by the Punta d'Es Plom and El Cap Sa Sal. Sa Tuna offers pleasant, quiet walks amidst marvellous natural surroundings.
