The Hotel Churrut is one of those hotels that seem to have always been
there. An 18th-century military house, it is surrounded by the natural
beauty of the rolling green Basque hills and is a haven of peace just
moments from the French border. Rustic, light-filled interiors, original
furniture, worn wooden floors and paintings that have been in the family
for generations create a unique, relaxed atmosphere.
Rooms are all different, restful and spacious, and have king-size beds
and charming decoration. The elegant bathrooms have semi-circular
bathtubs - a nice romantic touch. The views from the garden view rooms
are wonderful. In each, wooden floors and ceilings which pre-date the
hotel's renovation continue to delight, as do fabrics by 'Gastón y
Daniela'. The Lenkonea Restaurant is located in the former coach house
and combines avant-garde design with an early 19th century rustic style.
The menu offers a small, select variety of dishes using fresh, seasonal
produce. (Costing approximately 35 - 50 €). Outside, there is a pleasant
garden to enjoy the open air. Finally, the hotel has a private parking
with 20 spaces.
Hotel Churrut is located in Vera de Bidasoa, in the north of the
province of Navarra and near the border with France. The Serge Blanco
Thalassotherapy Center in Hendaya (France) is 20 minutes by car. La
Perla Thalasso-Sport Center in San Sebastian is 30 minutes.
