Geneva’s legendary Le Richemond re-opens in summer 2007, following a
20-month renovation designed by John Stefanidis, overseen by Rocco Forte
Hotels’ Director of Design Olga Polizzi.
One of the most prestigious hotels in Geneva, Le Richemond first opened
in 1863 and was operated by the Armleder family from 1875 until its
purchase by Rocco Forte Hotels in 2004.
The hotel is located in the heart of the city, just minutes from the
business, shopping and residential districts, with stunning views of the
Alps and Lake Geneva.
Following the refurbishment, Le Richemond will have 109 spacious
bedrooms including 26 suites. The 230 sq.m. Royal Suite – the Armleder
Suite – will feature two terraces with panoramic views of the Alps, the
Jura Mountains, Lake Geneva and the Old Town. All rooms and suites will
offer work stations and state-of-the-art technology.
The hotel’s restaurant and bar have always been a favorite among the
local Genevois. The restaurant, Sapori, will offer authentic Italian
cuisine whilst ‘Le Bar’ and its terrace will provide the ideal setting
to unwind while sipping cocktails in a vibrant and stylish atmosphere.
For pure relaxation, ‘Le Spa’, a stunning new facility is being created
that will include three individual traditional treatment rooms, one room
for couples and one wet room with Vichy shower, a sauna, a Turkish steam
room, a fully equipped fitness centre and a relaxation area.
For business events, the hotel will have three meeting rooms and a
ballroom, all with natural daylight and equipped with the latest
technology.
Geneva enjoys a unique location less than a two hour flight from all the
key cities in Europe and Geneva Cointrin airport is only a 20-minute
journey by car from Le Richemond.
