Blakes Hotel London is Cool Britannia with a dose of Old World charm -
elegant, refined, and never afraid to make a grand statement. Located in
residential South Kensington, Blakes Hotel London is a quintessentially
British endeavor. Exclusive and private (necessary traits given the
hotel's A-list clientele and England's culture of rabid celebrity
worship), it manages nonetheless to avoid the heavy pomp and
circumstance of a bygone era.
Internationally renowned hotelier and designer Anouska Hempel has
outdone herself at Blakes Hotel London, her most famous hotel. No two
bedrooms are alike - a Herculean design effort given the hotel's 45-room
total.
Downstairs, the restaurant and adjoining Chinese room blend eastern and
western culinary traditions, with sea bass fillet in a soy and ginger
broth served alongside rack of lamb with rosemary. Both rooms are ideal
corporate and private functions.
Some of London's best strolls are right outside your door. Be sure to
set aside an afternoon for a traipse through iconic Hyde Park and nearby
Kensington Gardens. The Natural History and Science Museum is another
local must-see.
