"My wife, daughter, and I spent three delightful nights at the beautiful family-owned Chateau des Alpilles in mid-June. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms in the Chateau des Alpilles are elegant, spacious, and well appointed. The common area facilities are excellent and well maintained. The atmosphere throughout the hotel and grounds is serene and welcoming. The staff was superb. But the most special place at the Chateau is the stunning garden area and long tree-lined drive. Each evening we dined in elegance in the garden, entertained by the beauty of our surroundings in the changing light of high summer. Breakfast in the garden brought with it the beauty of the morning light. These were memorable moments. We shall return. "

"Driving down the driveway into Chateau des Alpilles creates great expectations - and blissfully the stay experience doesn't disappoint. Being a family of four we decided to stay in La Lavour - a private house on the property with the advantage of sharing all the facilities. It was totally awesome and showed good taste at every turn. I could have stayed a week. The staff at the hotel are friendly and genuine. The grounds are maintained to the highest standard and the serenity of the gardens and stunning buildings are a welcome oasis when you are travelling. Location wise driving into St Remy was also easy (5 minutes) and as most people touring the region have a vehicle the free, private secure parking is also a benefit. The hotel restaurant was also a highlight and I can't image any other local restaurant doing a better job. Being summer we ate in the grounds which was delightful - the inside dining rooms were also stunning when we stepped in to have a look around. Thank you for a fantastic stay - we have already planned our return. A must stay in any visit to the region. "

"This was our 2nd stop on our 3 week holiday in France and Italy. Our first stop was in Paris at the Shangri-La hotel so our expectations were a little jaded so I am happy to say that our stay at Chateau Des Alpilles was just as exceptional. The property is gorgeous boasting an incredible restaurant, warm and caring service from everyone on staff and a great location for touring the Luberon and surrounding villages. We stayed 4 wonderful nights in the Apartment Sud which is in a separate building facing the front courtyard and tree-lined driveway. This apartment is perfect for a family of four since it contains a large living room with beautiful windows, 2 twin beds, 2 bathrooms, a small kitchenette and a separate master bedroom. This master bedroom has a beamed ceiling and it was great to lie and slumber listening to the sounds of the birds and running water from the brook located right behind. The pool, chaises and shaded palapas are heavenly after a tiring day of sightseeing. We had 2 dinners + 2 breakfasts. The food was extremely good, high quality using local and seasonal products. I feel though that the dinner menu is well priced but I found the breakfast too expensive, delicious but pricey. This chateau is great for a couple or for families and indeed there were several families during our stay. Highly recommend this property and look forward to returning in the future. "

"Rooms are elegant, spacious and luxurious in the Chateau des Alpilles. The park is glorious, with a beautiful pool. The whole place is quiet and serene. The restaurant is delicious, breakfast outside is just out of this world. This is a very special place, extremely well run. "

"Le Chateau des Alpilles really is spectacular and special. You almost feel as though you're on a movie set it's so lovely. It's charming and romantic and has a laid back vibe. I noticed most guests there were french (assume that's a good sign). The restaurant is beyond romantic and the food was superb. The staff is extremely nice and doesn't make you feel like you're an annoying tourist/American, like so many other hotels and restaurants in France tend to do. It's also a five minute drive to town which is great. Parking however is a challenge once you actually get into town so be prepared to drive around for a while looking for a spot. Especially on Wednesday when they have their market. The entrance was a bit confusing so they need to provide better signage and should also provide an iron in the room. The parking area/gate is also not very efficient and should be improved so you don't have to keep pushing the button and waiting for someone to open it. Aside from that, this hotel is truly perfection and possibly the most romantic hotel setting. "

"Le Chateau des Alpilles is a charming, peaceful getaway from the pace of Avignon, of highest quality in all aspects and superbly-run. The grounds are beautiful, we loved our lovely, well-appointed room and food was excellent. We shall return and stay longer. "

"We had picked Le Chateau des Alpilles as a perfect spot for a relaxing one night stop over between Marseille & Uzes where we were meeting other people. We arrived as the sun was setting & the Chateau & grounds look so French & rather lovely. Our room was large & very comfortable with a view over the grounds. The bathroom was good & had oodles of very nice products. The evening meal was good - served in a lovely room. All the staff were very pleasant & attentive. Breakfast in the room was delicious. We were sorry we had only booked a night & we plan to return. "

"We just finished our third stay at this magnificent small hotel: Chateau des Alpilles! Six nights flew by! We love the quiet country setting and convenient access to St Remy and it's wonderful restaurants. The staff at the hotel are top notch and always very helpful with reservations and suggestions. There will be a fourth visit! "

"From the second you drive up the gorgeous tree-lined driveway, you know you've arrived someplace special. We absolutely LOVED Chateau eds Alpilles. The grounds are stunning - the gardens, the pool, the stone structures, the hotel itself. St. Remy is an easy 20 minute walk away (try to time your visit with a market day!) but we found ourselves wanting to spend most of our time at this lovely hotel. The service is top-notch - the kind women at the front desk helped us acquire tickets to Carrieres de Lumieres in nearby Les Baux (worth it! go!), recommended restaurants in town, and even brought us a lavish cheese plate to the pool when we mentioned we were hungry one afternoon. There's no place quite like this - and our experience was topped off by the fact that we stayed in Le Lavoir, a freestanding stone structure that was once the wash house. The pictures barely begin to capture this charming little cottage, and we wished we could stay forever. "

"We just returned from a 9 night stay in France. Our first 3 nights were spent at Chateau des Alpilles. The staff are very helpful and the hotel is beautiful. It was wonderful eating both one dinner and our breakfasts outside. The pool area is exceptional and we enjoyed lounging on the chairs in the afternoon sunshine. We stayed in the blue room on the 2nd floor and it was perfect. An all around great hotel. "

"We were trying to figure out where to go the night before from Carcassonne. Fortunately there was a room at the Chateau des Alpilles and it seemed within walking distance of Saint Remy de Provence, and had great reviews. It is perhaps 15+ minute walk down a narrow country road, (not so fun at night, so we usually drove if just going in to town)...but it was worth the short distance, as the grounds are beautiful, peaceful, bucolic, fountains, huge old trees... The great house itself was elegant And cozy, and our room was large with a pretty view of large fountains, fields and chapel . A few furnishings were a little too worn, but still charming. The staff was very gracious and helpful and always had time to give us advice and help arrange tours etc. "

"We had an absolute wonderful time here in the Chateau des Alpilles. If you feel like you are driving down the road too far, you are not, it's about 3-4 minutes past the small town center of Saint Remy. Service: Over the top Cleanliness: Excellent Grounds: Wonderful! We spent a day in and enjoyed the gym, pool, and Chateau Breakfast: Additional and delicious My favorite part is driving down the tree lined lane. We took day trips to Arles and Avignon, great center base point. Restaurant recommendations: The Italian restaurant in the town is delicious, great pasta dishes (flavor on point) "

"We stayed at Le Chateau des Alpilles over New Year and had a wonderful time. The building is exquisite with a lovely tree-lined drive which leads to a very attractive stone French house. Inside it is beautifully decorated with grand elegant rooms and with some quirky modern furniture. Our room was old-style French with a huge comfortable bed, enormous armoire, writing desk and table and chairs. The ensuite bathroom was also well appointed with twin basins, toilet and bath with shower over. We had lovely views of the tropical gardens and on exploring found a swimming pool, tennis court, gym and a little chapel housing another room. The best thing about the hotel is it's staff. Everyone was charming and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and we had one dinner in the hotel, which was also fantastic. We would highly recommend this hotel if you're thinking of exploring the Alpilles region or just passing through. "

"We only stayed for two nights but loved the Chateau des Alpilles. From the moment you enter you're engulfed in an atmosphere that is both serene and lucrative. You get the feeling that you stepped into a glorious past of elegance. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the service level was great. The room was large very nicely decorated and comfy and the bathroom was large with an excellent shower. Breakfast is not included so you have to add one for 24 Euro per set menu that is very very satisfying. It is not a buffet but rather a set menu. You can however also go for a la carte. We also had dinner there and since it was so good I described it in a separate review. In short its not inexpensive but so much worth it. We will go back for sure. "

"We have had the pleasure of visiting The Chateau des Alpilles six or seven times, and always look forward to our next visit. The location is a great base for touring around Provence. Each of the rooms we have stayed in are unique, and comfortable. And there is no place we would rather eat than outside at the Chateau, with a bottle of rose wine, beneath the plane trees, with Jean-Pierre and his staff ... superb! Secure free parking is provided. Breakfast is an extra charge. The staff are all friendly, and professional. The loungers around the outdoor pool make for a great way to spend an afternoon, after a morning seeing the sights of Provence. And yes, you can order bottles of rose around the pool too. "
